She sent a revised Reinstatement letter...
Hello Jon,
Per our conversation yesterday, here are reinstatement figures good through 3/31/2011. I have not heard from upper management yet, I am still actively trying to obtain an answer. I am sorry for the delay.
Sincerely,

From SWMBO to Moi, on March 5...
Do you think we should even settle with them since they are still waiting for the "Higher Ups?" They are still screwing us around and I want this settled. I will never wire transfer those Bastards any money without their signature on that damned settlement FIRST!. I don't know what kind of game they are playing, but I'm not wasting $5346.00 if they are going to screw us by taking our money and then refusing to sign. They can go to hell.

The same day, I told Lawyer man that I was ready to walk. NBI could have the house. I have another one. I was sick of fighting, tired of waiting, and didn't believe for one minute that this mess would be resolved to my satisfaction.
He told me that if I'd hang in for the duration, he would not charge a dime for his services in this matter. Pro bono sounded enticing and I agreed to continue the good fight.

On March 17, 2011 Goodshepherd once again involved Fannie Mae, urging them to nudge NBI to get things done in a prompt manner.

Goodshepherd sounds like an honorable man. It's nice to know not all lawyers are dicks.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. He is an honorable man. Offering the pro bono work because he was angry and frustrated with the way he and I had been treated was an unexpected bonus, and one I will never be able to repay. Thank you simply isn't enough.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is stunning. Did you take it?
ReplyDeleteterri: No, I did not take the photo (wish I had) but it's funny that YOU asked about it, because when I found it, I thought it was something you would and could have taken. All I did was turn it into a duotone.
